Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) for Processing DG Consignments – Cat. 3 Initial

OPPDATERING: ICAO/IATA, med virkning fra januar 2023, vil også DGR-kursene skulle endre innhold. IATA´s helt nye Cat. 3-kurs er i samsvar med de nye CBTA-retningslinjene. Kurset er såkalt «Initial» for førstegangsbrukere.
For at Recurrent-deltakere allerede nå skal få DGR-kompetanse i samsvar med den nye CBTA-regimet, anbefaler IATA at Recurrent-deltakere benytter Initial-kurset.    Et nytt DGR Cat. 3 «Recurrent» for 24-måneders fornyelse av DGR-sertifikatet forventes lansert av IATA i løpet av 2. halvår. Som introduksjonstilbud senker derfor vi medlemsprisen på Initial-kurset fra normalt USD 1.710 til USD 1.400.

Safety is paramount in the aviation industry:

  • Ensure that you know how to read and apply the regulations for the transport of dangerous goods by air that are commensurate to your job function and tasks. These regulations include legal requirements, operational restrictions, packaging instructions, marking, labeling and documentation to ensure the safe transportation of these goods.
  • Gain the competencies to process shipments containing dangerous goods according to the current edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) manual and in accordance with the Competency-Based Training and Assessment approach (CBTA).

Category 3 vs. 6

  • The DGR Category 3 course is targeted at freight forwarders involved in processing dangerous goods – and only processing.
  • Should your internal policy and workflow include checklists or other tasks, normally conducted by handling agents, the category 6 course is required (link).

Target audience

  • Personnel working for cargo agents, consolidators and freight forwarder who are responsible for processing dangerous goods consignments from shippers to airlines.
  • IATA Cargo agent applicants willing to fulfill the training requirements for DGR.

Course objectives

Upon completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Fulfil the regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Perform tasks involved in processing dangerous goods consignments.
  • Apply IATA’s DGR manual to process dangerous goods consignments accurately.
  • Relate the legal responsibilities of stakeholders involved in the transportation of dangerous goods by air.
